Two Polk County hospital systems — Lakeland Regional Health and BayCare — are on Becker’s Hospital Review’s 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare.
Lakeland Regional Health currently has 5,433 employees.
BayCare — a West Central Florida affiliation of 14 nonprofit hospitals that includes Winter Haven Hospital and Bartow Regional Medical Center — has more than 26,900 employees, approximately 2,400 of them working at Polk County facilities.
To make it onto Becker’s Great Places to Work list, organizations could submit nominations or they could be added by the online magazine’s editorial staff, which also considered organizations that previously received national, state or local recognition for “workplace excellence, benefits offerings, wellness initiatives, and efforts to improve professional development, diversity and inclusion, work-life balance and a sense of community among employees.
